Peter Singer and Toby Ord on Global Poverty

Peter Singer is an Australian philosopher and professor at Princeton University. His book Animal Liberation is widely regarded as the touchstone of the animal liberation movement and he has written and spoken extensively about our obligations to the world's poor (www.thelifeyoucansave.com).

Toby Ord is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Balliol. In 2009 he founded the organisation Giving What We Can which encourages people to give a significant proportion of their income to those charities that are the most cost-effective at fighting global poverty (www.givingwhatwecan.org).
