Specialization: History of Science and Technology
Waqar Zaidi is an Assistant Professor of History at the Lahore University of Management Sciences. His research is, broadly, focused on the history of technology and international relations in the twentieth century. Current research interests include the international governance of powerful technologies such as aviation and atomic energy, and scientific and technological internationalism. He holds a BA in Physics from Oxford University, and an MSc and PhD in History of Science, Technology, and Medicine from Imperial College London.
Waqar‘s research at the FHI focuses on previous attempts at the international control of critical technologies (such as aviation and atomic energy) and what they can tell us about current and future governance of today’s critical technologies.
