On March 14th Dr. Ilya Shpister discussed the merits of causal decision theory (CDT).  His talk demonstrated the potential of CDT to resolve decision theory problems (such as Newcomb’s problem) so long as they are expressed in the correct causal graph.

Dr. Shpister is a lecturer in mathematics at the University of Southampton and has done work in the Department of Epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health. To view the whole talk, see here.
