The Future of Humanity Institute is launching a Research Scholars Programme, likely to start in October 2018. It is a selective, two-year research programme, with lots of latitude for exploration as well as significant training and support elements. We will offer around six salaried positions to early-career researchers who aim to answer questions that shed light on the big-picture questions critical to humanity’s wellbeing.

Although the functions of participants in the cohort will be much alike, we have two different applications for programme participants to which one should apply based on their experience level. Please read the descriptions below to determine which position is relevant to your circumstance.
Apply to be a Research Scholar: For applicants with a first degree in a relevant technical subject (eg mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, analytic philosophy). Also appropriate for applicants who have are working toward a doctorate in a specialist discipline, considering doing so after this placement, and/or working towards equivalent self-directed expertise.
Apply to be a Senior Research Scholar: For applicants with a Masters degree in a relevant technical subject (eg mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, analytic philosophy). Also appropriate for applicants who have received the degree of PhD or equivalent, or are doctoral candidates near completion in one of the fields detailed above.
